Today is the first class for Fall semester, but we picked up from where we left off for Spring semester. We study summation and product notation and how to use them to help us dealing with sequences and series’es. We also learn how to evaluate such summation and product notations, especially with nested ones.
This wraps up Chapter 10 and we will start Chapter 11 next week.

We start a new chapter, Chapter 10. Today we study arithmetic sequences and series.

We finish Chapter 9 by studying how to factor multi-variable polynomials. We learn factor theorem for multi-variable polynomials.
We further practice solving logarithm and exponential problems. This is to get students more familiar with using different tools/ways to solve problems.
Based on majority students’ preference, we will have our final exam next week. We will go over the exam on the last lesson, which will be 6/17.

We start Chapter 9 today, for factoring multi-variable polynomials. We first study how to use grouping to help us do factoring, then we study sums and differences of powers.
We study the identities of Logarithms. The set of identities will help to simplify many problems. It is important for students to get familiar with them, by practicing them.
