NCLS SEP 中国行活动再次开启！今春4月将是第14次赴中国高中进行支教文化交流活动。17年来的坚持不懈， 疫情期间也没有停摆。首次培训于2月11日，中国农历新春佳节大年初二晚，与美国职业橄榄球🏉赛超级碗之夜同步进行，团建活动氛围融洽，为今春的中国行写下了美好的开篇。第14届支教募捐舞会将于3月23日7-10pm在Todos Dance & Fitness Studio in Natick 举办！欢迎来参加舞会，感谢大家的关爱和支持！

第10届牛顿中文学校支教慈善网球赛
第10届牛顿中文学校支教慈善网球赛将于10/29晚7-10pm，11/4晚 8-10pm以及11/5晚 7:30-10:00pm在Longfellow Tennis & Health Club, Wayland MA 举行。
本次比赛的室内场地全部由Longfellow 网球俱乐部捐赠。本次比赛分为10个项目:
女子单打，女子双打，男子单打（A组 B组）男子双打（A组 B组），混双，青少年男单，青少年女单，青少年双打。
报名时间: 10月22日截止。比赛签表10/25号公布。
请在网上填表报名，每人每项建议捐$45报名费。捐款汇总之后100%交给牛顿中文学校支教项目。

2008-2009支教团队活动
2008-2009学年是牛顿中文学校支持中国贫困地区的教育和贫困学生受教育的计划（支教计划）实施的第三年。今年支教计划的中国互动学校是云南省永胜县第四中学。在学校董事会的领导下，在支教工作小组，中国之行带队老师，同学和家长的共同努力下，在中文学校和社区的大力支持下，今年的支教活动成功地完成了计划，并且有许多新的收获。
2008-2009学年支教计划在9月份开学后马上行动。首先在全校范围内发布了«牛顿中文学校2008-2009年度有关“支持中国贫困地区教育计划”的通知» (1)， 明确今年支教计划在征集中国贫困地区的学校，征召学生参加去中国的支教小队和征聘支教小队带队老师等方面的具体要求。牛顿中文学校的夏耘老师从第一年就开始关注这项计划，利用多种机会联系中国云南的学校，那里是她曾经生活的地方。夏老师在十月初正式推荐云南省永胜县第四中学，永胜四中也将学校简介和贫苦学生情况汇总传来(2)。
永胜县第四中学面向全县的特贫困少数民族招生，现有6个民族高中班351名少数民族学生，他们来自永胜县的71个特贫困村，家庭经济十分困难，有的一年四季只有一套衣服，1个月仅有不足100元的生活费，学习工具书无钱购买。学生在学校勤奋刻苦，但生活的艰苦还是直接影响了他们的学习和成长，尽管学校想方设法，多渠道解决贫困学生生活困难，但始终无法从根本上给予解决。学校衷心希望得到社会各界给予帮助和支持，让品学兼优但经济贫困的学生顺利完成学业。永胜四中提供的21位贫困同学都是高一年级学生，包括有汉族，彝族，回族，白族，僳傈族和普米组(3)。支教工作小组认为永胜四中的情况符合支教计划的要求，董事会经讨论，批准了永胜四中的选定。
2009年的中国之行小组由夏耘和武亚名两位老师带队，由王立哲、朱来瑞、赖洁安，武昊杰，王斯莉，孙阳阳，王远兴，Jessica Lin八位同学组成。支教小组于4月17日，离开波士顿，经北京，昆明，到达丽江，再坐汽车，长途跋涉52个小时后到达永胜四中。在永胜四中的一周内，支教小组的活动丰富多彩，其中包括参加升旗仪式，专题演讲，课堂听课和教学，文艺会演，溝火晚会，访问贫困同学家庭和座谈会，还有排球比赛等等。在离开永胜之前，支教小组游览了丽江古城。支教小组于4月26日平安回到波士顿。永胜四中赠送给我们学校一幅国画。每一位受资助的同学都写了感谢信(7)，感谢牛顿中文学校支教计划对他们的帮助。

SEP Working Group had an annual meeting on August 7, 2022, at Newton Auburndale Park. Attendee: Helen Cao, Shirley Chen, Faith Hu, Nan Liang, Ling Zheng, Qionglin Zhou, Naizhong Qiu
- Reviewed all activities that SEP has organized and participated in the past year
- Discussed two new programs, tutoring and financial aid. The Tutoring program has been running for two years and it’s a success. We will start the financial aid program in Fall 2022. The program needs more broadcasting.
- Explored channels communicating with students in China to increase the understanding of both sides.
- Would resume the trip to Sichuang Daqiao School if permitted.
- All working group members will keep contacting with different schools to explore the possibility of corporation

Online Virtual Show / 网络才艺大展
2021-2022 will be the 16th year for Support Education Program (SEP) in NCLS. The program runs an annual talent show to raise funds to support underprivileged students around the world, mainly in China. Under the current Covid-19 environment, this year’s Talent show will be ON-LINE and expanded to include the traditional on-stage performances; art exhibits such as drawing, photographing, and calligraphy; and cooking, baking, and other artful work products. Performances or art exhibits can be submitted via prerecorded video, picture or PPT. The submissions will be presented together with the live performances during the talent show. The entire talent show proceeds will be designated to SEP. Please join us to show your talents, artful hobbies, adventures during Covid-19, and support a great cause!
