Dear students,

Today we went over Ex 9, 10, 12, 15, 17, and 18 of Ch.9 homework on the board, and went through Examples # 1 to 9 of Ch.10 System of Equations. Please check class notes here.

Please keep the three types of solutions of a system of 2 linear equations in mind:

  • one solution: different slops, two lines intercepting at one point (the point represents the solution to the system of equations)
  • no solution: same slope, different y-intercepts, two lines are parallel
  • infinite solutions: same slope, same y-intercept, two lines merge into one line

Homework:

Pg 86-90, Ex 1- 25.  (Make sure to show your work and write your steps for each problem). Check the answer key on Pg 293-295, and fill in the Google Form here to let me know what questions you want Ms. Li to go over in the next class.
