AoPS_Number_Theory 2020 Spring Week 1: Linear Models
Welcome to the new course of AoPS: Intro to Number Theory! Here is the course information and teaching schedule: http://blog.newtonchineseschool.org/lilijia/number-theory/
Welcome new friend Alex!
Lesson Review:
- We did a pretest and went through all the problems in class. Make sure you get the basic skills for this class (especially: finding divisors and remainders, exponents, solving quadratic equations)
- Integers, natural numbers, whole numbers, counting numbers
- Perfect square/cube/power
- Remainder
- n/0 is undefined
- a proper divisor of an integer n is a positive divisor of n other than n.
- We commonly write n|k. This means that n is a divisor of k. (n is the divisor, and k is the dividend)
- If a|b and b|c, then a|c, i.e. divisibility is a transitive relation.
