Dear students and parents,

Today we went over Problems #10, 11, and 12 of Ch.5 HW and examples #1-7 of Ch.6 Expressions on the whiteboard. We also did some extra practice on paper. Please see the class notes here.

There are three essential formulas that are widely used in factoring and problem-solving. Please keep them in mind.

Homework:

Ch.6 exercise problems #1-15 on Pg 49-51 (check your answers with the keys on Pg 284, and use the Google Form https://forms.gle/xpq5rVfgGhdiXbDW7 to share the questions/problems with me. We will go over those problems in the next class:)

Bonus: DeltaMath Ch.6 Expressions

Next Sunday (11/06), we will have our first midterm exam (another practice test of SAT math). Please bring your laptop and calculator.

Dear all,

It is our sixth lesson this week! Happy birthday to Ryan (10/23)!

We went over Ch.4 HW problems #5, 7, 9, 10, 16, 19, and 20 on the whiteboard today (Thank you to those who shared your questions in the Google Form last week!). Please check the class note here.

Students were picked randomly by the name sticks to function as a little teacher today to explain Examples 1-6 in Ch.5: Ratio and Proportions. Well done! Please check the class note here.

We also played Quizlet Live with one round of the individual contest and 2 rounds of teamwork! Hope you enjoyed this game:)

Homework:

Pg 41-43, Ex 1-15. Again, after you finish it, please check the answer key on Pg 282-283, and submit this Google Form https://forms.gle/wa3PhWPcqxcmfWt19 to let me know which problems you want to be explained in class next week.

Dear all,

We took the entrance ticket today, and five volunteers went to the whiteboard to share their work! Well done, students!

We also went over Problems #2, 7, 9, and 17 in Ch.3 homework, and did Examples #1-5 in Ch.4 Rates. Please check class notes here.

Please pay attention to the conversions between different units.

Ch.3 Linear/exponential growth

Today we went through Ch.2 homework problems #1-20 in class. It was fun to work with the name-picker on popsicle sticks:) We also explained some of the pre-test problems on the board. Please check the class notes here for your review.

This week’s new lesson was Ch. 3 Linear/Exponential growth. Pay attention to the differences between these two models.

Homework: pg 28-31, Ex 1-18.

Since last week, we have provided optional DeltaMath practice for this class. Each week, the paper-based assignment on the textbook is required, and the online DeltaMath is a bonus. Please check Google Classroom and join DeltaMath to make good use of the online learning tools:)
