  • Sieve of Eratosthenes
  • Test prime factors from 2 to root square of q
• Perfect number (a positive integer that is equal to the sum of its proper divisors): 6, 28, 496, 8128…

Lesson Review:

• We did a pretest and went through all the problems in class. Make sure you get the basic skills for this class (especially: finding divisors and remainders, exponents, solving quadratic equations)
• Integers, natural numbers, whole numbers, counting numbers
• Perfect square/cube/power
• Remainder
• n/0 is undefined
• a proper divisor of an integer n is a positive divisor of n other than n.
• We commonly write n|k. This means that n is a divisor of k. (n is the divisor, and k is the dividend)
• If a|b and b|c, then a|c, i.e. divisibility is a transitive relation.
