Letter to NCLS Teachers on 15-Mar-2013

Dear teachers:

Thank you very much for your effort and hard work, the school has been proceeding smoothly, and our curriculum has been conducted very well.

This is the time of the year we used to remind our teachers for two things:

1. Verifying the registration in your class. Please log-in to your teaching account and get the student list of your class, and verify it with the attendees in class on Sunday. Please let the school admin know if the list has any discrepancy with the actual class.

2. Reinforcing the classroom discipline. We all might have realized that,  the Spring semester is when the students get to know their teachers and their peers,  and this is the time when the classroom management becomes harder. Please emphasize again on the classroom rules to your students, and involve your teaching assistants to resolve any disciplinary issues. And, the school admin are here for you, please let us know if you need help.

Besides the reminders, we have the following notes for this week:

In-house training plan

As we had always been debating our thoughts on whether or not to take the mid term/final exam days for teachers’ training, it had come to a conclusion that, it was difficult to have all teachers to attend the training during one first class period and it’s possibly disturbing the classes. We plan to conduct the all-teachers’ training in May on one of the Saturdays. Details will be shared by the Dean as soon as the training agenda is complete.

Announcement from the NCLS Teachers’ Club

Let’s have some fun exercises together and share some quality time.

Letter to NCLS teachers on 08-Mar-2013

Dear NCLS teachers and staff:

Happy International Women’s Day!

A lot of information in the Admin’s blog are also very helpful to us. Please take a look. http://blog.newtonchineseschool.org

We need to remind everyone to follow the traffic law as the priority when we have to deal with any of the driving and/or parking situations. Please be aware that, some “NO Parking” signs have been put on several parking spots in front of the school building recently, those spots are not allowed to anyone of us. And, please do not park at or block the handicapped parking spaces behind the building.  Unfortunately some of our teachers got parking tickets last week on these parking spots.

It has been very difficult to all of us this year since the construction has taken away many parking’s. The principals and the PCC have been working very hard to eliminate any unexpected parking occupancy around the school building.  If you do not have the NCLS parking permit or cannot find a parking spot when you have large teaching materials for the classes, please work with the school admin, PCC or the classroom parents, to have the materials dropped off and delivered to the classrooms. Let’s work together to face this challenge.

For this week particularly, the auditorium will be used by the Day’s this weekend. Our 成人运动健身 Adult Aerobic Exercise class and 儿童民族舞 Children Chinese Folk Dances will be conducted in the gym. We are asking the parents’ basketball groups to give in the gym this Sunday for the impacted classes.

Thank you for your attention. See you on Sunday!

Letter to NCLS teachers and staff on 11-Jan-2013

Dear teachers:

It was very nice for us to catch up with each other last Sunday after the vacation. All looked having had a good time and having been refreshed!

In the past a few years, we have been trying to figure out a better way to distribute the bottled drinking water. This need has become urgent last Sunday when there wasn’t any water bottle left for some teachers that came to teach in the second period. Kind in mind that the water bottles are only for our teachers and staff. To make sure all teachers have bottled drink water, as a temporary solution starting from this Sunday, we will put up the class list by the water supplies; when teachers and staff come to get the water bottle, please check off by the class or the teacher’s name. Admin’s names will be listed too for checking off by their names. Let’s see how this works and get some statistics on the water needs; hope it helps us to find a longer term solution.

The final exams for 《中文》classes are on Jan. 20. The review materials have been posted on the admin’s blog below. Please inform your students to print their own copies and bring to the class on Sunday.  http://blog.newtonchineseschool.org/

Asian Culture Center will offer NCLS teachers and staff free admission to the concert tomorrow. When you get to the concert, you just need to let the ticket collector know that you work for NCLS, they will let you in! Here is the concert information:
