NCLS Weekly Newsletter 22-October-2015

Dear Parents:

There are a couple of important events that will be happening this Sunday:

-Ward 2 Election Forum

With the development of NCLS, school has become one of the largest non-profit organizations in Newton. At the same time, it also bring a lot of inconvenience to the local communities, such as parking issues, etc. To solve this or other potential issues, Ward 2 Alderman will play a significant bridge role between school and our neighbors. Therefore, NCLS decided to host Newton Ward 2 Alderman Election forum this coming Sunday, to create an opportunity for NCLS parents to listen and speak out what you are caring. The forum is on October 25, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm in the auditorium. Four alderman at large candidates, plus Emily Norton, who is the current alderwoman, will come to our school. Our vice principal Ming will moderate the forum. Bellow please find the background information of these candidates. Also, Wenhua Zhang, a parent of NCLS, who is running for Newton Charter Commission this year, will meet our parents and answer their questions from 2:15 to 2:30 pm.

This is a very important event. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend this Forum to show your support to NCLS and Chinese community. Your participation will be highly appreciated.

-PVSA Award Granting Ceremony‏

Another important thing is President Volunteer Service Award(PVSA) granting ceremony. After the debate forum, from 3:30 to 3:40 pm, school principals, Board Chair and Alderman Candidates will announce the the 1st group of PVSA award recipients and grant the certificates to them.
