NCLS Weekly Newsletter 31-Oct-2013

Dear parents,

Leaves are falling and mornings are chilly. It’s that time of the year that we sip some hot ciders and bake some cookies with our kids. Maybe we can read a story in Chinese when we have the sweets. If we cannot make learning Chinese easier, at least we can make it more fun.

This coming Sunday 11/3 is the end of Daylight Savings. Don’t forget to turn you clock back for an hour. That means we get one more hour for sleeping.  After so many late nights with Red Sox games.  It’s a good time to rest.  Yes, we won!

Student Rules:

We would like to remind our students and parents of NCLS Student Rules again: http://newtonchineseschool.org/handbook/students_rules.htm, as we noticed a few students and parents are still not clear with some of the rules, such as no eating in the classroom and informing teacher of absence.  Please read them carefully and we hope all families can follow our rules.

Parking Reminder:

Last Sunday we heard some parents got parking violation tickets.  Here is the parking rules again:

1) It is illegal to block someone’s driveway.

2) It is illegal to park within 5 ft of a driveway opening, on either side  (yes … this renders some streets with next to no parking)

3) It is illegal to park within 15 ft of a street corner.

4) SPECIFIC TO NEWTON, there are some areas that are  posted NO PARKING (one stretch is along the Crafts/Linden/Walnut St  triangle)

This coming Sunday we will have Talent Show from 4-7pm at the second floor auditorium.  The talent show is  one of the support China Education  fundraising events.
