The spring semester has past half way. It’s time we start to prepare for the next school year. The fall 2015 registration will start in mid-May. We need all teachers to let us know your teaching plan for next school year. Here is the 教学意向表form that all teachers need to fill:

– Chinese Teachers Training 4/12
Training Group: 暨南大学教材高年级组 (七年级至十年级)
Training Time: 4/12 12:30- 1:45pm Training Location: Classroom 229
Training Topic: 重点：授课方法、技巧
1. 比较有效的一些针对高年级特点的授课方法和技巧，可以抓住学生的学习兴趣。
2. 在教学过程中如何针对同一班不同中文水平的学生安排教学，来提高他们的兴趣和课堂参与感。
Teachers in this group are required to join the training. Other teachers are welcome to join if interested.
– Speech competition
1. 在4/5进行的2015年牛顿中文学校中文朗诵、演讲比赛高年级组的比赛中，一共有19名学生参与了这次活动，其中11名同学参加了朗诵比赛，8名同 学参加了演讲比赛。比赛中，七位评委们对每位参赛学生依照比赛评分标准进行了认真，公平的计分。最后，根据每位学生的总得分决出了每组前三名获胜的学生，同时也决出了 每组获得鼓励奖的同学（因为演讲组有一半的同学因各种原因没能按计划参加比赛，所以学校根据实际参赛学生的人数对奖项名额做了调整）。
高年级组朗诵比赛获奖名单（以姓氏拼音排名）：

2. Speech Competition on this Sunday 4/12
低年级组（六到八岁）的演讲比赛将于这个星期天（4/12）在二楼礼堂举行， 时间是从第二节课，3：40 开始。 请各位评委老师于3:30准时到礼堂向教务主任林晓燕报到。如您的班级有学生参加比赛，请提醒他/她们于3：25准时到礼堂报到。
-Parent Teacher Forum
Last semester, our teacher Ms. Ruiyun Wang and Ms. Xiaodong Zhao hosted a parent forum regarding how to help children learn Chinese at home. The forum was geared to parents of K-3 grade students. Many parents joined the forum and had a wonderful discussion, and we received very positive feedback from parents.
This semester, we will have the second forum hosted by these two experienced teachers. Here is the forum information:
Topic: 探讨怎样保持孩子的中文学习兴趣: 与三年级以上的孩子家长座谈
