2021年 暑期课程 AP 化学预备课 / Pre-AP Chemistry

招生对象: High school students who plan to take AP Chemistry in the fall semester of current school year. 高中学生准备秋季上AP 化学课

上课时间: 七月份,八月份, 每周六: 1:30 PM – 2:50 PM

任课教师:Jian Wei, Ph.D. Chemistry, Tufts University. She has taught Chemistry courses at NCLS every year since 2011. 她在该校连续任教化学课已超过十年。

教学目标-

“大学委员会建议,在秋季上AP课程之前,所有学生都应该事先已经上过具有挑战性(即难度高)的该学科课程,为AP课的成功做好准备。”–引自College Board AP化学是学生在高中可能选修的最难的课程之一。一些学生在这门课程上挣扎,因为这是他们第一次必须将数学应用于解决现实世界中的问题,包括代数的实际使用。这一门课需要大量抽象思维,三个维度的可视化以及使用逻辑和批判性思维技能。  

开设AP化学预备课的目的是为学生打基础 – 使学生认识化学物质的结构和性质,并能够对化学反应系统的变化做出预测。本课程旨在为学生提供AP化学课所需要的背景知识和训练学生的解题技能,为学生秋季开学时上更高级的科学课程做好准备,例如AP化学,AP环境科学和AP生物学。本课程特别强调定量和定性分析方法。  

 “College Board also believes that all students should have access to academically challenging course work before they enroll in AP classes, which can prepare them for AP success. “   AP Chemistry will be one of the hardest courses you may take in high school. Some students struggle with the course because it is the first time they must apply mathematics to real world problem solving, including the practical use of Algebra. It is also a course that requires a great deal of abstract thinking, visualization in three dimensions, and the use of logic and critical thinking skills. The goal of Pre-AP Chemistry is to provide students with a foundation to understand the structure and properties of chemical substances and to make predictions in regards to the movement of energy in a system. This course is designed to give you the background and skills to prepare you for more advanced science classes, such as AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, and/or AP Biology. This course has special emphasis on quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis.
