Dear parents,

Have you ever wondered what major(s) your child/ren will chose as their career in future? What factor(s) decides the most suitable major(s) for them? The authors of this paper try to answer that by summarizing the last 45 ~ 50 years research through a meta-analysis of what we know and what we don’t know. It is a fifty page long scholarly article published in a peer-reviewed journal rather than a newspaper article.  I strongly suggest you to read the whole paper to get the complete picture that the authors try to present, if you are going to read it.   Please open the link  Science and Mathematics

Additional Chemistry SAT classes and teaching plan for 2012 – 2013 school year

Two critical dates –

2013 AP Chemistry Exam: Monday, May 6

2012 SAT Chemistry test: Saturday, June 1.

I plan to finish all topics (chapters) in the SAT chemistry book with supplementary material in AP Chemistry book by the end of March, 2013.  So we can do three SAT practice tests at the end of the SAT book on April 7 and 28 and May 5.  AP Chemistry Exam is on Monday, May 6.  (There are no Chinese school on April 14 and 21).

On May 12, the students will practice SAT test in “The Official Study Guide for all SAT Subject Tests, Chapter 6  Chemistry; From the makers of the SAT Subject Tests, CollegeBoard” book.

On May 19, the last class meet before SAT test on June 1, Saturday, we will devote class time to fill the knowledge gaps and holes that the students have discovered in their practice tests. (No Chinese school on May 26).

In order to accomplish all the above, I would like to add a class on December 29, Saturday, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Newton Free Library.  Please email me to confirm your attendance.   (There is no Chinese school on Sunday December 30)

Directions:  http://www.newtonfreelibrary.net/?sec=about&doc=location

I also plan to have the class meet on Feb. 10 (Sunday) and March 31 (Sunday) from 1 PM to 4:45 PM.  There is no Chinese school on these two days.  Please let me know your availability on both two days.

On March 31, I may have the students who will take AP exam practice AP exam which takes two to three hours to complete in the class.  I will work with the rest of the students on the remaining SAT topics.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Happy Holidays!
