{"id":1730,"date":"2022-10-14T08:57:54","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T12:57:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.newtonchineseschool.org\/wangweidong\/?p=1730"},"modified":"2022-10-14T08:57:54","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T12:57:54","slug":"math-9-lesson-5-10-20-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.newtonchineseschool.org\/wangweidong\/2022\/10\/14\/math-9-lesson-5-10-20-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Math 9, Lesson 5, 10\/13\/2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two events are called to be independent events if the occurrence or non-occurrence of one event does not affect the probability of the other event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If A and B are independent events, the probability of both events A and B occurring is the product of their individual probabilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P(A and B) = P(A) * P(B)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this, we can simplify tree diagrams when dealing with problems with multiple same items by simply marking their probabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When two (or more) events are dependent to each other, we cannot use the product rule, but we can still use the tree diagrams to help us finding probabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Homework:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Print these pages (pages are links.
