\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As\u00a0the last school day of the year approaches, the Principal and the administration team sincerely thank you for your contribution and support to the school. We wish you and your family a very happy and enjoyable holiday season. For those who celebrate Christmas, we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. Have a wonderful and safe vacation for all!<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Please remind your students that our school will resume on January 8, 2012. It would be nice if you give students some extra exercises, or \u513f\u6b4c\/\u8bd7\u6b4c\u80cc\u8bf5 assignments to help them keep learning Chinese. Grade Leaders, you are encouraged to make the assignments for each grade.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One of our classrooms had an accident last Sunday with some craft works broken. We have been communicating with Day School to find out what has happened. Meanwhile,\u00a0whenever you find any broken items and\/or issues in the classroom you teach, please immediately\u00a0write a note to\u00a0the related Day School\u00a0teacher of the classroom,\u00a0to explain the situation and leave your contact information in case\u00a0the teacher\u00a0needs our\u00a0help.\u00a0Let’s take a proactive role on resolving classroom issues from now on.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A holiday greetings card will be\u00a0sent to each classroom this Sunday during the first class period; language teachers, please write on the cards holiday greetings like: “Dear teacher at room ###: Happy holidays to you and your family! Thank you for sharing your classroom with us! – From the Chinese School teacher XXX” and have your students sign it with you\u00a0if possible. Please leave the cards on the teachers’ desks. Thank you very much for doing this to express our appreciation.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Last Saturday’s teachers’ party brought us so much fun. Thanks to PCC members,\u00a0NCLS administration team,\u00a0and\u00a0all performers and participants, the combined effort has made the party a cheerful\u00a0and memorable event.\u00a0\u00a0We have been working hard, and so we can play hard!<\/p>\n

2. 2012 NCLS Chinese New Year Celebration Announcement<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dear NCLS parents, teachers and students:<\/p>\n

Happy holiday season!<\/p>\n

New Year is around the corner. Newton Chinese School Event Committee invites all NCLS teachers, students and parents to join the preparation of the biggest annual event of our school\u2013 Chinese New Year Celebration. To celebrate the year of dragon, the event committee will organize two performances: an in-school celebration will take place on Sunday, February 5th, 2012 during the school hour; an out-school celebration performance will take place at the newly built Newton North High School from 7:00 to 9:30 pm on Saturday, February 11th, 2012.<\/p>\n

All interested groups please submit your favorite program to the NCLS events committee (eventcommittee@newtonchineseschool.org<\/a>). We start collecting program as early as today and the deadline of submitting the program is 12\/30\/2011. Please submit as early as your convenience.<\/p>\n

Following is the required information when submitting a program:<\/p>\n

Program type (\u8282\u76ee \u7c7b\u578b)
\nDuration ( \u65f6\u95f4\u957f\u5ea6)
\nPerformers (\u8868\u6f14\u8005)
\nDirector (\u6307\u5bfc\u8001\u5e08)
\nProgram description (\u8282\u76ee\u4ecb\u7ecd)
\nContact person name, email and phone number \uff08\u8054\u7cfb\u4eba\u59d3\u540d\uff0c\u7535\u8bdd\u548c\u7535\u5b50\u90ae\u4ef6\uff09<\/p>\n

All the programs should be shorter than 5 minutes; some Chinese traditional program like \u76f8\u58f0\uff0c\u5c0f\u8bdd\u5267\uff0c\u5c0f\u8868\u6f14 may allow longer duration. All submitted programs will be audited by NCLS event committee. The committee will decide on the acceptance and which celebration event the submitted program is accepted based on its quality and overall arrangement of the two performances. The final decision will be sent out on January 15, 2012.<\/p>\n

To assist the audition of the submitted programs, you may choose to send us a CD, DVD, a link to the performance of your group, or arrange an audition with our committee members. All related materials should be received before January 8th, 2012.<\/p>\n
