Dear Teachers:<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thank you for your preparation, this year’s fire drill went very well: all people in the building were evacuated within five minutes after the alarm was sounded. All our students left the building in an orderly manner and stayed with their teachers. Good job!<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And, many thanks\u00a0for\u00a0the effort from all teachers, TAs and school administration members, the classrooms have been kepted in much better shape last Sunday. One thing we need to explain is, the inside of the classrooms are usually cleaned on Friday. The custodian fee we pay to Day School only covers cleaning the area outside the classroom. So the classrooms are not cleaned on Sunday night after we leave the school, therefore, trashes in the trash cans are kept there till Monday afternoon\u00a0in the classrooms. Please emphasize to your students that, they can not eat in the classroom, and should not throw snack bags in the trash cans even if they did not eat the snack.\u00a0Please tell students that they need to get their pencils sharpened at home; if they have to sharp their pencils in the classrooms in any case, please make sure they do it over the trash can, not to leave pencil debris on the floors.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0As part of the appreciation to our teachers and staffs,\u00a0we have\u00a0got grocery gift cards for teachers and adult teaching assistants. The cards will be distributed on Saturday during the teachers’ party, and\/or on Sunday during school.<\/p>\n

Happy holiday season!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

New Year is around the corner. Newton Chinese School Event Committee invites all NCLS teachers, students and parents to join the preparation of the biggest annual event of our school\u2013 Chinese New Year Celebration. To celebrate the year of dragon, the event committee will organize two performances: an in-school celebration will take place on Sunday, February 5th, 2012 during the school hour; an out-school celebration performance will take place at the newly built Newton North High School from 7:00 to 9:30 pm on Saturday, February 11th, 2012.<\/p>\n

All interested groups please submit your favorite program to the NCLS events committee (eventcommittee@newtonchineseschool.org<\/a>). We start collecting program as early as today and the deadline of submitting the program is 12\/30\/2011. Please submit as early as your convenience.<\/p>\n

Following is the required information when submitting a program:<\/p>\n

All the programs should be shorter than 5 minutes; some Chinese traditional program like \u76f8\u58f0\uff0c\u5c0f\u8bdd\u5267\uff0c\u5c0f\u8868\u6f14 may allow longer duration. All submitted programs will be audited by NCLS event committee. The committee will decide on the acceptance and which celebration event the submitted program is accepted based on its quality and overall arrangement of the two performances. The final decision will be sent out on January 15, 2012.<\/p>\n

To assist the audition of the submitted programs, you may choose to send us a CD, DVD, a link to the performance of your group, or arrange an audition with our committee members. All related materials should be received before January 8th, 2012.<\/p>\n
