For the teachers who are using the same classroom, please coordinate with each other, check the room condition before and after the class, make sure everything in good order when you finish your class. Take the picture if you found anything unusual and report to the principal and Guanghua immediately.

Here are the two reports we received this week, please read it, it will be very helpful for us to know what kind of aspects we should pay more attention.

1. Room 211

My name is Roland Moffitt. I am a teacher at FA Day Middle School. My room is 211. I am writing to you about a concern I have. The past three times my room has been used, the desks are moved an not placed in the original position. I have also noticed things erased on my whiteboard – side of the room. Additionally, I have missing candy and objects on my desk appear to have been moved.

Please place the desks back in their original positions if they get moved. Additionally, I do not think any items in my classroom should be moved. I have included Day’s principal Brian Turner on this email.

I appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

2. Room 319

My name is Laura Carlin and I teach science in room 319 at F.A. Day Middle School during the week. I hope that your Sundays have been going well with the students in your class on Sundays. Thank you for leaving the whiteboard in good condition and not erasing any of the science work I leave there. We have such a limited board space that I appreciate this effort. I apologize if my science lab “mess” has ever gotten in your way. I know the tables can be sticky and there’s very little counter space. I promise that I never leave dangerous chemicals out!

I do have one request about the desks in my room. They are very heavy and hard to move. I know that the lab set up that I sometimes use is not good for other kinds of lessons. However, I would really appreciate that the tables be returned to the position I leave them in on Friday. I spend a lot of time arranging the tables to make sure I have enough space for students to get around the room and get to the lab equipment that they need. Often they are working with glassware and need to get to sinks or other counters while carrying breakable objects. I also want to make sure that they can see the front board when necessary. The angles of the table and the spacing of them is very precise.

My request:
If you move the tables please take care to return them as closely as possible to the exact positions. It takes me at least 30 minutes to duplicate the set-up. If you need help with this or if there’s any way that I can make this easier please feel free to email.

Thank you for any support that you can give in this matter.

-Storage room cleaning

The small storage room in the library has been very messy and crowded recently, there are a lot of things that are not supposed to be there. This room is only for heavy stuff and copy machine, not for the regular light teaching materials.

This weekend, admin staff is going to clean and reorganize the storage room, please take your staff with you.

This week’s weekly newsletter is posted here:http://blog.newtonchineseschool.org/

Thanks

Li and Ming

Dear Teachers: -Thanksgiving and Teachers Appreciation Party Just a kind reminder, the annual Thanksgiving and teachers appreciation party is on 11/14, starting from 5:00 pm – 10:30 pm, the address is: 29 Montvale Ave., Woburn, MA, 01801, Woburn, MA.
