-Thanksgiving Party<\/p>\n
The annual school Teacher appreciation\/Thanksgiving party will be on Sat. 11\/22\/2014 \u00a0at Woburn ACAS Center, 29 Montvale Ave. Woburn, MA 01801.\u00a0The appreciation dinner\u00a0will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at basement. Please be there on time. After the dinner,\u00a0performance will be on the 1st \u00a0floor from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm.\u00a0 Here is the program list:<\/p>\n
http:\/\/www.newtonchineseschool.org\/principal\/NCLSThanksgivingParty2014ProgramList.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n There\u00a0are a few things that we would like to address for the party:<\/p>\n 1. parking:\u00a0There are plenty of parking spaces across the street of ACAS, but be aware\u00a0that\u00a0some spots\u00a0are for private parking, please pay more attention to the sign.<\/p>\n 2. The performance is on the 1st floor.\u00a0 At the same time, PCC will arrange many kind of kids games at the basement.\u00a0 Water and snacks will be provided<\/p>\n 3. Safety:\u00a0 The ACAS center will be crowded this Sat, especially at basement. \u00a0PCC will have full authority to maintain the order.\u00a0 Please remind your child to\u00a0follow instructions whenever it is required. Hope everyone has a\u00a0safe and enjoyable evening.<\/p>\n – Parking Issue<\/p>\n This is a repeated topic, but the illegal parking\u00a0issue has raised concerns from the Newton City. Recently we have received a\u00a0message from the Newton School Operation Management. Here is\u00a0part of the message:<\/p>\n ”As I have mentioned in the past, there is a significant parking issue in the neighborhood around F A Day during Sundays when your school is in session. \u00a0People are parking illegally, blocking driveways, parking on grass areas and parking where there are no designated spaces. \u00a0There is no respect given the neighbors who live around Day. \u00a0This needs to stop. \u00a0I understand this behavior isn’t representative of everyone, but there is a significant number of folks guilty of this behavior”.<\/em><\/p>\n The school has been taking this parking issue seriously.\u00a0 If you\u00a0park outside the Day School campus, here are some important parking notes:<\/p>\n 1). On Albemarle Rd, please do not park along the brook side, it’s no parking area.\u00a0 Please try to leave enough space for the drive way if you park along the residential house. The State regulation requires that\u00a0cars cannot be parked within\u00a05ft to the drive way opening. \u00a0We did spot some cars parked too close to the residential drive way.<\/p>\n 2). On some small streets off Walnut Street, please do not park too close to the intersection.\u00a0 The State regulation requires that cars cannot be parked within 15ft to the street intersection.\u00a0 However, we spotted some cars parked too close to the intersection which would block the view of\u00a0the traffic.\u00a0 We took a picture of\u00a0 Linwood Av. off Walnut St. last Sunday.\u00a0 Please see the picture\u00a0in this link.\u00a0 Cars parked too close to the intersection. \u00a0This is one of the big problems that caused the resident safety\u00a0concerns.<\/p>\n http:\/\/www.newtonchineseschool.org\/principal\/parking611-16.jpg<\/a><\/p>\n 3) There are plenty parking on California St and Linwood Av. off Crafts Street.\u00a0 We have\u00a0checked that\u00a0street parking is allowed there.\u00a0 They are good alternatives\u00a0besides Albemarle\u00a0Rd. and Newton Education Dept. parking lot on Crafts St.<\/p>\n One observation from last Sunday, one car with teacher parking permit occupied two parking space, maybe it’s due to technical skills, but please pay more attention to the line when you park your car.\u00a0 Our teacher parking\u00a0spaces\u00a0are limited.<\/p>\n -School Facility<\/p>\n Based on the agreement between\u00a0Day school and NCLS, we can not take or use the Day school\u00a0properties unless we got approval from Day school. Recently, we received couple of complaints form Day school room teachers. In order to avoid such\u00a0issues happen again, please\u00a0review the following items with your class:<\/p>\n 1.
